Standing Desk & Chair Return Policies: The Honest Scorecard
Every brand in this category advertises the same thing: “30-day returns.” What the ads leave out is what the return costs you — the shipping fee deducted from your refund, the restocking percentage, the original box you were supposed to keep. So we read the fine print on every brand we cover and put it in one table.
Last checked: October 18, 2026. Every figure below comes from the brand’s own published policy pages — linked from our research notes — not from roundups. Where a brand publishes nothing, the table says so. That silence is information too.
The scorecard
| Brand | Return window | Return shipping | Restocking fee | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FlexiSpot | 30 days, from receipt | Free | None if returned like-new | 5 yrs standard; 15 yrs on the E7 line |
| UPLIFT Desk | 30 days, from receipt | Free (contiguous US) | None stated for its own products | 15 yrs — frame, motors, electronics and desktop |
| FEZIBO | Not published | Not published | Not published | Not published — no policy page found |
| Hbada | 30 days, from delivery | 15% of the price, deducted from your refund | Not stated | 5 yrs core parts (E3 series); 3 yrs other parts |
| Herman Miller | 30 days | $99 per performance chair | 10% on non-seating items | 12 yrs on new seating |
| Branch | 30 days, from delivery | $40 flat per chair; desks pay a label fee | 20% only on $2,000+, bulk, or white-glove orders | 10 yrs desks; 7 yrs Ergonomic Chair |
| GABRYLLY | 30 days via Amazon | Free via Amazon | None via Amazon | No published policy; manuals conflict (2–5 yrs) |
Direct-store policies. Marketplace orders (Amazon and similar) follow the marketplace’s return process instead — sometimes that works out better, as GABRYLLY shows.
What a return actually sends back to your card
Run the math on real products we cover, assuming the item goes back like-new inside the window:
- FlexiSpot E7: full refund — return shipping is free.
- UPLIFT V2 (standard top): full refund in the contiguous US.
- Branch Ergonomic Chair ($369): refund minus $40 flat.
- Hbada E3 Pro (around $480): refund minus about $72 — Hbada deducts 15% of the price as a “return shipping fee,” so the pricier the chair, the pricier the regret.
- Herman Miller Sayl (from $750): refund minus a $99 return shipping fee — and your original delivery charge is not refunded either.
- Any FEZIBO desk: nobody can tell you. The terms are not published where buyers can read them before ordering.
Brand by brand
FlexiSpot
FRIENDLIEST EXIT — WITH A SPLIT WARRANTY
- Window: 30 days from receipt
- Return shipping: Free
- Restocking: None when the item comes back like-new
- Warranty: Standard models: frame and motor 5 years, electronics only 2 years. The E7 premium line: 15 years on frame, motor AND electronics. Desktops: bamboo 5 years, other tops 2 years.
The honest read: The friendliest big-brand exit in the category — with one trap. That “FlexiSpot warranty” number quoted on roundup sites is wrong for half the lineup: check which side of the standard/premium split your model sits on before you buy.

UPLIFT Desk
THE BENCHMARK
- Window: 30 days from receipt
- Return shipping: Free in the contiguous US, like-new in original packaging
- Restocking: None stated for UPLIFT-branded products
- Warranty: 15 years covering frame, motors, electronics and the desktop itself
The honest read: The policy everyone else should copy. The catches are narrow but real: custom laminate and solid-wood tops cannot be returned at all, neither can multi-desk orders, and white-glove or installation fees are never refunded.

FEZIBO
NOTHING PUBLISHED
- Window: Not stated on any official policy page we could find
- Return shipping: Not stated
- Restocking: Not stated
- Warranty: Not stated on fezibo.com
The honest read: The empty chair at the table. FEZIBO’s product manuals mention a 30-day risk-free guarantee, but we could not find a published returns or warranty policy on fezibo.com to verify a single term. If you buy FEZIBO, buy it somewhere whose own return process protects you — and keep the paperwork.

Hbada
THE PERCENTAGE TRAP
- Window: 30 days from delivery
- Return shipping: 15% of the purchase price, deducted from the refund
- Restocking: Not stated (the 15% is classed as a shipping fee)
- Warranty: E3 and X7 series: core load-bearing parts 5 years, other components 3 years. Other series: 3 years. Parts-replacement model, diagnosed by photo/video
The honest read: Percentage-based return costs punish expensive chairs: returning the E3 Pro costs roughly $72. Note that Hbada’s older product manuals still promise a “30-day free return policy” — the current website terms are the ones that govern, and they charge 15%.

Herman Miller
BEST WARRANTY, PRICIEST EXIT
- Window: 30 days
- Return shipping: $99 flat for performance seating
- Restocking: 10% of the purchase price on items other than performance seating; seating returned without its original packaging pays 10% instead of the $99
- Warranty: 12 years on new seating — the longest in this table
The honest read: The premium brand with the least premium exit. Installed items cannot be returned at all, and original delivery charges are gone for good. The trade is the 12-year warranty: Herman Miller is betting you never leave, and pricing the door accordingly.

Branch
HONEST MIDDLE
- Window: 30 days from delivery; like-new, original packaging required
- Return shipping: $40 flat per chair; desks pay a per-unit label fee quoted in the return portal
- Restocking: 20% only on orders over $2,000, 10+ units, white-glove/freight, or enterprise orders
- Warranty: Desks 10 years; Ergonomic Chair 7 years; Daily and Softside chairs 5 years
The honest read: Middle of the road, and published plainly — including a holiday extension (orders delivered after November 15 can be returned until January 15). One gap: the Multitask Chair is not named on the current warranty page, so its term could not be verified there.

GABRYLLY
AMAZON IS THE POLICY
- Window: 30 days of receipt via Amazon
- Return shipping: Free via Amazon
- Restocking: None via Amazon
- Warranty: No published policy page; the brand’s own manuals variously state 2, 3, or 5 years
The honest read: GABRYLLY has no policy page of its own — its manuals point buyers to its Amazon store, so Amazon’s 30-day free returns are the policy in practice. Ironically that makes its exit cheaper than Hbada’s. Just don’t ask three GABRYLLY manuals what the warranty is; you’ll get three answers.
Per the brand’s own published policy pages, checked October 18, 2026.
Three things the roundups get wrong
1. “FlexiSpot has a 15-year warranty.” Only the premium E7 line does — electronics included. Standard models carry 2 years on electronics. Same logo, two very different safety nets.
2. “Branch charges 20% restocking.” Only on $2,000+ orders, bulk orders, white-glove and enterprise purchases. A normal one-chair return pays the $40 shipping fee and nothing else.
3. “Hbada offers free returns.” Its manuals say that. Its current website deducts 15% of the price. When the two disagree, plan around the website.
How to keep your exit cheap
- Keep the box for 30 days. Branch and Herman Miller require original packaging; UPLIFT’s free returns do too. A tossed box can convert a free return into a 10% fee.
- Photograph the unboxing. Damage claims run on short clocks — Branch wants notice within 3 days of delivery — and photos are the whole claim.
- Check the exact model’s warranty, not the brand’s. FlexiSpot’s 2-vs-15-year electronics split is the extreme case, but Hbada’s terms also change by series.
- Start the return inside the window. Windows start at delivery or receipt, not at first use. A desk you “try next weekend” is burning trial days in its box.
- No published policy? Buy through a platform. If a brand won’t put its terms in writing, let a marketplace’s return process be your written protection.
And the cheapest return of all is not needing one: most desk regret is a fit mistake — too tall, too short, too small for the gear. Our Fit Calculator checks your height, weight and room before you spend anything.

Questions buyers ask us
Which brand has the best return policy? UPLIFT and FlexiSpot tie on free returns inside 30 days. UPLIFT breaks the tie with a 15-year warranty that covers even the desktop; FlexiSpot counters with the same free exit on cheaper desks — just check your model’s warranty split.
Does “30-day trial” mean returning is free? No. Only FlexiSpot and UPLIFT state free return shipping on their own policy pages. Branch charges $40 per chair, Hbada deducts 15% of the price, and Herman Miller charges $99 for seating.
Why does the table say FEZIBO publishes nothing? Because as of October 18, 2026, we could not find a returns or warranty policy page on fezibo.com. Its manuals mention a 30-day risk-free guarantee without published terms. If FEZIBO publishes a policy, we will update this page — the scorecard is re-checked when our guides are.
Do these terms apply to Amazon purchases? The table covers each brand’s own direct store. Marketplace orders follow the marketplace’s return process, and some warranties restrict coverage to authorized sellers — Herman Miller excludes unauthorized resellers entirely.
