About UpstandingDesk

UpstandingDesk exists for one reason: buying a standing desk shouldn’t require an engineering degree.

Most desk reviews are written for an imaginary average person. But real buyers have real constraints — a 5’2″ frame that needs a 22-inch minimum height, a studio apartment with 40 inches of wall, a treadmill humming under the desk during Zoom calls. We write for those people specifically.

How we work. Every spec on this site — height ranges, weight capacities, warranties, noise figures — is checked against the manufacturer’s current spec sheet before we publish, and re-checked on a regular schedule. When we haven’t tested something hands-on, we say so plainly. When a number can’t be verified, we don’t print it.

How we make money. UpstandingDesk is reader-supported. When you buy through links on this site, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. It doesn’t change what we recommend — our picks are driven by specs and fit, not payouts. Read our full affiliate disclosure.

Who’s behind it. UpstandingDesk is an independent publication run by Walter. No brand pays for placement, and no manufacturer sees our drafts before they publish.
